Weight Doctors BARIATRICS® provide the most modern, minimally invasive permanent stomach reduction surgeries.
All patients are thoroughly consulted and educated about surgery by the Weight Doctors expert team. Before a procedure takes place, patients can expect to be informed about pre-op diet requirements and examinations such as blood tests.
In preparation for a procedure, we’ll perfrom a preliminary gastroenterological examination to make sure there is no reason why you should not have stomach surgery. The Weight Doctors BARIATRICS® surgeries are all performed laparoscopically under general anaesthesia. Minimally invasive surgery takes approximately 60-120 minutes.
An overarching rule for surgery with Weight Doctors BARIATRICS® is an inpatient stay for 1 to 3 three nights in one of our patient rooms under the supervised care of our experienced nursing staff. This period is to ensure your body has coped well following the surgery and is on the road to recovery. Prior to being discharged home, the nursing staff also perform any necessary blood tests.
For a speedy and healthy recovery, a liquid-based diet is advised for the first 4 to 6 weeks following the surgery. After check-up, the re-introduction of foods gradually increase in consultation with our experienced consultants until your stomach is fully healed.
Finally, patients should continuously engage with the Weight Doctors experienced team in follow-up. Ensuring patients are equipped with the knowledge to work with their procedure, make effective diet and lifestyle changes and ultimately succeed on their weight loss journey.
